Now, Get Driving Licences At HomeBy akansha, Section News
In a move that couldprovide relief to citizens, Minister of State for Transport Gulabrao Deokar on Friday said the state government was considering a proposal to make home delivery of driving licences. The government is likely to initiate action in this direction within a month.
At the inauguration of the Road Safety Week organised by the Regional Transport Office (RTO) on Friday, Deokar said, "Due to the time consumed in the process of acquiring driving licenses, people have to suffer. Therefore, in order to avoid this inconvenience, the state government is thinking about making home delivery of driving licenses. In order to implement this scheme, we are going to initiate action within a month's time." He said that instead of police having to discipline the traffic, the citizens should, on their own, follow traffic rules, which would bring down the rate of traffic accidents. Divisional commissioner Dilip Band said that the authorities are also working to reduce road accidents and the proposed traffic park in Pimpri is an example of that, where motorists could take lessons in traffic rules. RTO Chandrakant Kharatmal was also present on the occasion. Source: The Indian Express Now, get driving licences at home
