"The drainage line might have got burst at some place, mixing the sewage water with clean water. The administration should act at the earliest," said Dnyaneshwar Bhusari, a resident.

Other residents, Bharat Kale and Ajay Fatke, complained that the water has a pungent odour. "Authorities should check what is wrong with the supply line," they said.

The residents pointed out that they have been facing this problem for last five days. The area which is close to M G Road has around 500 houses and most of them have been affected.

When contacted, elected member of the area Manjur Shaikh stated that he was not aware of the problem.

On what action would be taken by board to solve this issue, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) D K Malik said, "Concerning officers will visit the site and take corrective action."
