'Fix Fees For Professional Courses'

Several students' organisations have demanded a fixed fee structure for professional courses during admissions.

The Shikshan Shulka Samiti (SSS), appointed by the state for fee regulation for professional courses, decides an interim fee during admissions and in the next six months the fixed fee is announced.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, Suresh Jain of the Students' Welfare Association of Pune said, "We have demanded that the SSS fix the fee structure and then start the admission procedure. It will help parents decide on sending their ward to the particular college once they have an exact idea of the fee structure."

Representatives of students' organisations including Maharashtra Vidyarthi Parishad, Rashtravadi Vidyarthi Congress among others were present.

These organisations have planned a meeting with students and parents at the Patrakar Bhavan at 2.30 pm. They have also warned that if immediate action is not taken, they will stage a protest.
