A string of cultural programmes has been lined up for the 14th Navratra Mahotsav scheduled to be held at Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch from September 30 to October 9. The highlight of the festival would be a dramatised presentation of compositions of saints like Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram.
"As per the tradition, we have planned a grand inauguration ceremony," organising committee president Aba Bagul said. In the event, select personalities will be felicitated for their invaluable contribution to society. Accordingly, balladeer Vitthal Umap, actor Prasad Oak and social worker Shubhangi Bhalerao would be presented with the Shri Laxmimata Kala Sanskriti award.
Also, renowned poet F.M. Shinde and folk artist Madhu Kambikar would be conferred with the Shri Laxmimata Kala Sanskriti Vishesh award.
Other attractions during the inauguration ceremony include sitar recital by Khan Saheb Usman Khan and a lavani performance by Swapna Sangamnerkar.
Till October 9, the Navratra Mahotsav will see various cultural programmes every evening at the Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch. TNN
