The 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games will take place in Pune in October and the run up to the Games will be marked by a baton relay spanning over a month.
The President of the Indian Olympics Association Suresh Kalmadi announced the baton relay in Delhi on Wednesday.
Based on the lines of the Queen's baton relay of the Commonwealth Games, it is a first of its kind.
The Games in Pune will be the third Commonwealth Youth Games and for the first all 71 Commonwealth nations have confirmed participation for the event.
