Feng Shui Tip no. 15By Homes in Harmony, Section Homes In Harmony
Hi, interested Feng Shui reader!
With this chapter a new series starts about Feng Shui and Chi enhancements. There are several possibilities in Feng Shui to boost the Chi and the energy-flow, i.e. plants, mirrors, artwork, colours, the right lighting, water features and some more, which will be discussed in the next few Feng Shui Tips of the Week. The first parts will fall into the category of the enhancements with plants, today the Lucky Bamboo in special:
The plant which is commonly sold as Lucky Bamboo is actually a member of the Dracaena family (Dracaena sanderiana). These plants, which come in various shapes, are well known for their durability under adverse conditions, they don't require much light, so can even grow in darker areas in your house. Because of its ease of care and its similarity to the true bamboos, it has become quite a popular houseplant. They are not only attractive for their interesting, sculptural shapes but also for their symbolism in Feng Shui: Wood stands for growth, life energy and vitality. Actually it perfectly represents all five elements of Feng Shui, which are: Wood - the Bamboo itself, Earth - you can add some pebbles in the bowl, Water - the Water in which the plant grows, Fire - the stalks are usually tied together a red ribbon, Metal - mostly they grow in round glass bowls and the round shape belongs to the metal element.
This plant traditionally symbolizes Good Luck, it brings good and vibrant energy into your home and also fortune and prosperity to business and offices. For this purpose you can place it in the South East of your living room or your office. More about the Lucky Bamboo in the next Feng Shui Tip. A prosperous home wishes you Karina S.V.
