On the outside handle of the maindoor you can hang a small bell also tied up with a red ribbon. The sound of the bell while opening and closing the door is believed to welcome good luck and opportunities into your home.

But never hang a Feng Shui energizing symbol on the backdoor as this represents the way out!!! and all the wealth and good opportunities will be swept out of your house.

By the way this is also an important reason why you never should sweep the dust and dirt of your home out of the door (doesn't matter front- or backdoor) as you sweep all good energies away!!! Better collect the dirt on a dustpan and throw it in a dustbin.
