Feng Shui Tip no. 7By Homes in Harmony, Section Homes In Harmony
After talking much about the bedroom, we now shift forward to the next vital location of your home, which is your kitchen.
The kitchen is also associated with prosperity and therefore it is considered the "heart of the home". For this reason the kitchen is one of the most important areas in a house (no matter how large or small). Since ancient times the place of fire and preparation of food represent the warming and nourishing center of the home. Although times and habits changed over the time the kitchen and the stove are still important, as we not only live from the chi of the air around us, but also from the chi of the food to gain health and vitality. The arrangement of the kitchen should be harmonizing and enhancing on the food prepared there.
Keep some distance between the gas stove and the sink and/or refrigerator as water and fire energy will fight each other . This is not always possible in the common Indian kitchen arrangements, therefore you can put a clay-pot (element earth) in between them and store your wooden (element wood) spatulas and knifes (element metal) blades downwards in there. By adding all other elements, you can equalize the fighting energies between water and fire. Some of the different Feng Shui school suggest only the place something representing the Wood element in between such as a plant or a painting of a plant.
The Chinese symbol for misfortune is a combination of the sign for fire and the sign for water! Therefore avoid also to place the OTG or the Microwave on top of the fridge! As there are also much tips about the right kitchen set-up according to Feng Shui, we will go on next week with this topic. That you can enjoy preparing and eating your meals in a harmonious surrounding wishes you Karina S.V.
