Homeopathy can reduce obesity!

OBESITY is not the same as being overweight. Extra weight may be due to muscle, bone, fat or even water retention. Obesity, on the other hand, refers specifically to having an abnormally high proportion of body fat. Obesity is determined by measuring Body Mass Index (BMI).
More than a cosmetic problem, obesity has serious health implications. Moderate obesity can cause mood and sleep disturbances, gall bladder disease and premature ageing while severe obesity puts you at risk for diabetes type 2, coronary heart disease, hypertension, cancer, osteoarthritis and gout.
Given today's high calorie, high-fat fast food diet and sedentary lifestyles, it is little wonder that obesity has assumed epidemic proportions. It affects over 1.2 billion people worldwide. Of these, approximately 108 million people are adults while 22 million are children under 5! India alone accounts for 97 million obese people and that means half our women and a third males are obese.
Losing weight is no longer about looking good but being healthy. Crash diet and exercise programmes provide no solutions. They are difficult to maintain and their results only temporary and superficial. By contrast, homeopathy offers safe, lasting and holistic solutions for obesity. Composed of natural elements in miniscule doses, homeopathy has absolutely none of the side effects of other weight loss programmes like dehydration, anaemia, menstrual irregularities and hair loss.
Instead it goes to the very root of the disease, acting on it in three distinctive ways:

Firstly, treats the underlying medical causes of obesity -- be it hypothyroidism or hormonal disorders like PCOD. A detailed case study and examination leads to an individualised constitutional remedy based on each patient's specific physical, mental and emotional make-up. These medicines vary from case to case. Secondly, there is evidence to suggest that many times food serves as an emotional substitute. Many people eat to compensate for lack of love and affection. While some lose their appetite under stress or depression, others tend to eat more. Homeopathic prescriptions take into account each patient's emotions. For example an indolent, inactive obese patient may need Calcarea Carb whereas a depressed, timid obese patient may need Graphites.
Thirdly, international clinical research shows that certain homeopathic medicines are useful in reducing weight as they help to burn calories faster by speeding up the metabolic rate. One such 100-year-old homeopathic remedy prepared from an extract of sea-kelp, has been researched and accepted by UK's Medicines Control Agency.
Our own programme combines the goodness of homeopathy with scientific diagnostic tools along with expert diet and fitness counselling. W eight loss is regularly and continuously tracked through a 'Body Composition Monitor' which not only measures the weight but also body fat, bone mass, visceral fat, muscle mass, basal metabolic rate, total body water content and metabolic age.
