In line with its plans to strengthen its retail operations in India, Hewlett Packard India inaugurated its premium retail outlet called the Experience Zone (at the GJ Ghaisas store) in Pune.

Spread over 330 sq feet, at the centrally located Deccan area on JM Road, the store promises consumers a world-class retail experience. Apart from this, Pune already has another Experience Zone called Cybernet IT located at Aundh.

Speaking on the occasion, Krishnan Varadarajan, general manager-consumer sales, Hewlett Packard India Sales, said, "HP believes in enhancing consumer experience by offering user-friendly solutions. The HP Experience Zone is an attempt to provide consumers with an interactive and informative shopping experience and provide the right ambience to touch and feel HP's growing range of products. Essentially, the Experience Zone allows consumers to use the product and experience it as if they were in their own homes."

According to Varadarajan, Pune occupies a vital place in the overall expansion plans of HP. "As a city, Pune has plenty of industries in the form of BPOs, manufacturing, SME and software. People from these industries are extremely tech-savvy and constantly on the lookout for new technologies and products that are faster and better. With the inauguration of this store, we hope to delight consumers with our handhelds, notebooks and much more."

Through these stores, HP hopes to reach out to consumers better than before. The company also hopes to generate more walk-ins. At the Experience Zone, the consumer can touch, feel and experience the product before actually buying it. These stores also provide first-hand information on new products launched.

The Zone is designed using HP branding on the walls, jazzy demo counters and stylish interiors which showcase a range of products in various zones. These zones are: Digital Photography, Digital Entertainment, Mobility Solutions, Category Units and Consumer Desktops. The company presently has 194 exclusive premium retail outlets in India and plans to open 50 more across the country by the coming year. Pune is expected to have four more Experience Zones by October.
