Feng Shui Tip of the Week No. 12
By Homes in Harmony, Section Homes In Harmony
Posted on Mon Apr 28, 2008 at 07:50:15 PM EST
In the former tips we were concerned about the main door itself, today we have a closer look on the way leading towards your maindoor.
If you own a house and a way leads through a little greenery towards your entrance you can invite Chi by adding colourful flowers (except thorny varieties) and a free view to your entrance door, because Chi increases with the attention it receives! The more people see your house and be delighted by your garden-design, the more Chi will be generated and will be at your disposal.

Feng Shui Tip No. 9

Posted on Mon Mar 24, 2008 at 08:34:01 PM EST
This week will be the last part about the right kitchen set-up according to Feng Shui.
If you work with your back towards the kitchendoor and you cannot see, who is might sneak in, a mirror will give an overview, what is going on behind your back.
Some Feng Shui school to double the flame for prosperity, others warn that the flames of the stove should not be reflected, as this can cause too much fire energy, which is bad Feng Shui. It would be better to double the food being served, so install a big mirror in the dining area and a small one in the kitchen, which only reflects the view behind you and not the flames.

As there are also much tips about the right kitchen set-up according to Feng Shui, we will go on this week with the kitchen topic.
Don't eat or drink from chipped or broken plates or cups, bad energy can seep into your food. Also cooking pot or pans should be replaced, when i.e. the Teflon surface is scratched off. Don't keep your worn out or broken items in the kitchen, when you already replaced them by new ones.

Feng Shui Tip no. 7
By Homes in Harmony, Section Homes In Harmony
Posted on Thu Feb 28, 2008 at 07:55:30 AM EST
After talking much about the bedroom, we now shift forward to the next vital location of your home, which is your kitchen.
The kitchen is also associated with prosperity and therefore it is considered the "heart of the home". For this reason the kitchen is one of the most important areas in a house (no matter how large or small).
Since ancient times the place of fire and preparation of food represent the warming and nourishing center of the home. Although times and habits changed over the time the kitchen and the stove are still important, as we not only live from the chi of the air around us, but also from the chi of the food to gain health and vitality. The arrangement of the kitchen should be harmonizing and enhancing on the food prepared there.

Feng Shui Tip of the Week (Feb, 03 - Feb 09)
By Homes in Harmony, Section Homes In Harmony
Posted on Fri Feb 01, 2008 at 09:21:36 AM EST
How to determine your auspicious areas in your home or your office
In Feng Shui every person has 4 auspicious directions, called Success-, Health-, Romance- and Personal Development Direction. There are also 4 which are inauspicious and should be avoided. To find out about your best areas in your home or office you have to calculate your KUA number which is based on your date of birth. According to your personal KUA number, you can determine your 4 positive directions and 4 negative directions.
We will refer to the KUA number many times in the following Feng Shui Tips of the week. It is always good to know your number and your favourable directions, because sleeping, sitting or working in any of these specific locations will generally bring you luck and protect you from bad luck.
The Chinese lunar calendar differs from ours and starts with the Chinese New Year, which falls every year on a different date between 1st of Jan and the 20th of Feb. So if you born before Chinese New Year you have to calculate the KUA number from the year before.
You can find the start of the lunar year in the chart below:
